Advancing production methods and product quality
GroeNoord, in collaboration with HempFlax, developed the innovative DoubleCut hemp harvester. Starting with the first prototype in 2014, the design underwent continuous refinement, culminating in the DC4510, which was ready for serial production in 2019.
As Project Manager, I joined the team during this pivotal transition. In a small, agile team, I led key projects to improve production, streamline processes, and enhance technical capabilities. My contributions have supported GroeNoord’s evolution in production efficiency, product quality, and documentation.
Highlights of my contribution
- Production efficiency: Transitioned from single-order production to a batch-based system for standardized modification kits with optional variations. This improved efficiency reduced order-to-delivery time by four months, with the fastest delivery achieved being an operational harvester in Romania within two weeks of payment.
- Technical documentation: Authored comprehensive operator and service manuals, along with dealership documentation to enable independent modifications by international partners.
- Subsidy management: Oversaw subsidy applications and reporting, ensuring compliance and successful funding acquisition.
- Purchasing optimization: Shifted the supply chain from overhauled parts to brand-new factory components, including negotiations at the John Deere factory level.
- Export coordination: Managed multiple international orders, including documentation and compliance, ensuring seamless delivery.
- Protocol development: Established robust protocols for machine transport, modification kit handling, warrantee and service agreements, and work conditions for overseas employees.
Looking ahead
Future plans focus on expanding GroeNoord’s sales and marketing capabilities, positioning the company and its DoubleCut technology as the leading authority in hemp harvesting solutions
